Hotel Guest Reviews of the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel

Traveling as Couple
The staff at this hotel was amazing. They made our stay as perfect as it could be. They were quick to offer suggestions of places to eat and see and were able to direct us where we needed to go. While the valet parking was expensive, the car was always ready quickly and the men working the valet parking was attentive and professional. Our room had a wonderful view and was cleaned to perfection when we arrived and on the one night that we stayed. The food we had in the bar area (as well as the drinks) was fabulous. ...read more

The hotel is beautiful inside, I have stayed here before and was delighted when my Priceline offer was accepted and it ended up being this hotel again. The staff, starting with the valet parkers to front desk, restaurant and cleaning people are very friendly, courteous and always willing to help. ...read more

Overall, I was pleased. I was not, however, impressed when I saw part of the wallpaper border hanging off the wall. My husband never did get hot water in the shower. The exercise room was OK, but certainly not what I would expect for a 4 star hotel. There also was no coffee pot in our room. The new remodel was well done and the staff was very friendly. The best thing was our dining experience. The prices were very reasonable and the food and service were great. That, to me, was what made the hotel stand out in my mind more than anything else. ...read more

Very nice hotel. Very modern. The only thing I didn't like is the required $23 valet parking. There is no parking on your own unless you would know a local public parking area which we didn't.

Very nice. The bathroom was a little cramped but nice. Shower only, no tub, bu
it preferred that. Bed was very comfortable and lots of pillows and a padded head board. Parking was a little expensive. ...read more

Don't get me wrong, this is a really nice hotel, but a 4 star rating? Give me a break! Who rates these places?
Old tube style TVs! and the only option for parking is valet at $23! If I was going in and out fine, but just staying overnight. ...read more

Restaurant was great, the staff and service were fine and the building and location were prime. However, the rooms were simply unacceptable. The first room that I was given, was just dirty. There were what appeared to be cigarette ashes on the bed (of a non-smoking room). There was also hair seemingly everywhere - in the bathtub, on the comforter and even on the sheets. I am not a clean freak, but this was too much for me. So, I asked to be moved. I was moved to a second room, that was not much cleaner. I was too tired to change rooms again, so I made due. However, I don't believe that I will go back to this hotel ...read more
